Stretch your legs on the mainland before setting sail for the Cyclades: this is Greece at its very best.
Welcome to Greece – a land of crumbling ruins and crumbling feta, the sun-bleached cradle of modern civilization. A lot of Grecian itineraries begin with Athens’ historical highlights before skipping quickly off to the Greek Islands. But not this one. We’ve designed a comprehensive tour that includes the best of the mainland AND the islands. From the Sanctuary of Apollo at Delphi and the unbelievable monasteries of Meteora, all the way to the olive groves and sandy beaches of the Cyclades. Along the way you’ll discover that Greeks are passionate about a few very specific things: good times, good food, and good gossip. Kalimera!

Due to the current financial situation, banking services in Greece could potentially become limited at short notice. This includes credit card processing services and servicing of ATMs. When travelling through Greece, please ensure you have more than one means of payment with you (cash, debit cards, credit cards etc.). You'll also need to have sufficient Euros in cash to cover emergencies, unforeseen circumstances and any unexpected delays.
As accommodation on this trip is twin-share, single travellers will share a room with another traveller of the same sex. If you’d prefer not to share, a single room supplement is available at an additional charge. Please ask your travel consultant for more details. Also, hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together.

Just as a heads up before you book: this trip is new to our range this year. And while we have thoroughly researched every detail of the logistics, new destinations can sometimes throw us some unexpected surprises. More often than not, it’ll be a great surprise. But every now and again there might be a hiccup. We like to think that’s what puts the ‘adventure’ in ‘adventure travel’.
Our Best of Greece trips score an average of 4.5 out of 5 based on 2 reviews in the last year.
We have done 5 tours so far with Intrepid and have thoroughly enjoyed each tour. The organisation of the tour and the leaders ensure that you use your time effectively and get great recomendations for places to see and places to eat.

The monastaries north of Athens were a real treat. The food was some of the best in all of our travels.
