Welcome to Rio, a city that combines wild beauty with a passion for living life to the full. On the second day enjoy a guided tour through its iconic sites, including the famous beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana immortalised in many a song. Look out for the magnificent statue of Christ the Redeemer, declared one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, whose outstretched arms are visible from most of Rio de Janeiro. Get a taste of the city’s carnival atmosphere with a workshop dedicated to its fabulous floats and crazy costumes. On the third day, head to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain by cable car for breathtaking panoramic views across the city.

Escape the buzzing cityscape and head for paradise. Arrive by boat and spend the day relaxing on the idyllic island of Ilha Grande and look out for the wildlife, including the tropical birds and howler monkeys, which live in its rainforest. The following day trek through the jungle to one of Brazil’s most beautiful beaches, Lopes Mendes, for a swim in its clear waters before returning by boat. With so much pristine wilderness, the last day is free to explore at leisure. Alternatively, why not take advantage of the many peaceful coves and beaches dotted around the coastline which once provided shelter for pirates.

Cross back to the mainland and fly to the magnificent Iguazu Falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. This tiered cascade plunges majestically creating a thunderous roar and throwing a refreshing spray towards those gazing on in awe. Take in its incredible rainforest surroundings and get to view this stunning natural wonder from both the Brazilian and Argentine side. Perhaps, for another perspective, treat the family to a helicopter ride over the falls for a bird’s eye view or get an even closer look on a boat trip.
