Day 1 La Paz

Welcome to Bolivia. At around 3,600 m, La Paz feels like the top of the world. Why not head to the Witches' Market and bargain for a potion or go on a shopping spree, purchasing the latest Bolivian trends including alpaca beanies, leather handbags and woolly knits.

Days 2-3 Uyuni

After a short flight we arrive at Uyuni. This small and slightly desolate town is the gateway to some of Bolivia’s most incredible natural landscapes. Jump in a 4x4 and journey to the astounding Salar de Uyuni salt flats.

Days 4-5 Potosi

Make tracks to Potosi and explore the city’s wealth of colonial architecture. Or choose to go on an underground tour of Potosi’s mines, where working conditions have scarcely improved since colonial times. This trip into the earth may be a little scary, but it is a chance to learn about the harsh realities of the cooperative mines and the challenges faced every day by the men and women who work there.

Days 6-7 Sucre

Visit the ‘White City’ of Sucre and take some time to amble the cobblestone streets and admire the classic architecture. Explore the palaces, churches and convents, which are dotted all over the city. Then head to the Plaza 25 de Mayo to mingle with Sucre's well-heeled residents or have a look at the beautiful interior of the Iglesia de la Merced. For something completely different, compare shoe sizes with a dinosaur at Cal Orcko, where 60 million-year-old footprints have been discovered.

Days 8-9 La Paz

Back in La Paz there is more time to visit the city’s various museums, whether it be one revering contemporary art or paying homage to the coca leaf. Opt to finish the trip with a farewell group dinner, a great opportunity to say goodbye to new friends and share memories of the trip over a Pisco sour or two.
