Wild Kimberley Summary

Add to Shortlist

Day 1 Broome/Windjana Gorge

Broome is a swirl of colour - turquoise waters, red cliffs and Cable Beach's endless expanse of white sand. A true geological wonder, Windjana Gorge offers stunning natural beauty, freshwater crocodiles and local birdlife beneath towering walls rising 90m.

Day 2 Mt Barnett Cattle Station

Set in a pristine natural landscape, Mt Barnett Cattle Station offers access to the beautiful waterfalls and deep clear pools of Manning Gorge.

Days 3-4 El Questro

Spanning more than one million acres including the fiery-red cliffs of the Cockburn Ranges, El Questro Wilderness Park is one of the world's last unspoilt frontiers.

Day 5 Kununurra/Lake Argyle

With year-round warm weather and a plentiful supply of water, the rugged landscape surrounding the small township of Kununurra is lush and fertile. Covering a vast expanse many times the size of Sydney Harbour, Lake Argyle is the heart of the massive irrigation system which transformed this dry region into a lush agricultural oasis.

Days 6-7 Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle Ranges)

Purnululu National Park is the home of the magnificent Bungle Bungles - unique orange and black-striped 'beehive' formations created by rivers over 20 million years.

Day 8 Fitzroy Crossing

Located close to the magnificent Geikie Gorge, the small township of Fitzroy Crossing is surrounded by the fertile floodplains of the Fitzroy River.

Day 9 Geikie Gorge/Broome

Carved by nature between the Geikie and Oscar ranges, Geikie Gorge is an awe-inspiring location with a huge array of wildlife including freshwater crocodiles, birds and fish. A major source of the coveted South Sea pearls, Broome is a cosmopolitan mix of cafes, shops and beautiful beaches.
