Day 1 Darwin/Litchfield/Mary River

Welcome to Darwin, the Northern Territory’s balmy, laidback, slightly kooky capital city. Trade the urban heat for the cool swimming holes of Litchfield National Park. Get a special welcome to the Wulna Country from the Limilngan-Wulna people, and gain an insight into local Indigenous culture with lessons in bush tucker, didgeridoo playing, spear throwing and basket weaving. Then try keeping count of the crocs floating by on a boat trip through the Mary River Wetlands.

Day 2 Mary River/Kakadu

Witness haunting Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr, then climb up a rocky outcrop overlooking the East Alligator River. Later in the day, cool off with a dip in the plunge pools of Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) before heading to the camp site in Kakadu National Park.

Day 3 Kakadu/Darwin

Admire the magnificent Jim Jim Falls and get a sense of the scale of Kakadu’s Twin Falls on a boat trip to its base.

Day 4 Darwin/Katherine Gorge

Enter Nitmiluk National Park and savour the remarkable views out over Katherine Gorge from Baruwei lookout. After venturing down into the gorge for further exploration, continue on to the tiny one-pub town of Daly Waters.

Day 5 Daly Waters/Devils Marbles (Karlu Karlu)/Alice Springs
