  • Our Original style trips have a great balance of included activities with your group and free time to explore independently. Where we stay ensures we keep our travellers firmly entrenched in a region’s people and culture, and provides them with unique local experiences that benefits the community too. In most locations we stay in simple tourist-class hotels (i.e. 2-3 stars), plus on many trips you'll also get to experience a night with a local family on a homestay or something a little different like a Bedouin camp in the Sahara. Original style trips come with all manner of transport modes and use a mixture of local and private transport. You might find yourself sailing in a dhow in Zanzibar, jumping on a rickshaw in Sri Lanka or sailing on a yacht through the Galapagos. No matter the mode, it's all about minimising our environmental impact and making getting around part of the adventure.
3 Day East Coast Explorer (Hobart to Hobart)
Day 1 Hobart/Bicheno
G'Day! Welcome to Australia.
Our journey starts at 7am today. Our default joining point is Montgomery’s YHA at 07:00am however we do pick up from other centrally located hotels. To organise pick up from another property please get in touch with your booking agent.
This morning we journey to the East Coast and the beautiful Bay of Fires where we can stretch our legs and take some time to enjoy this stunning coastal region. The beaches are gleaming and the water inviting, so enjoy a swim (conditions permitting) before embarking on Tasmania’s most scenic coastal drive from St Helen’s to Bicheno. This evening you can join a guided viewing of the Little Penguins (optional in season) as they return to their rookeries on the edges of this seaside village. We stay overnight in Bicheno.

Day 2 Freycinet National Park/Hobart
An early start means we are the first to the lookout, beating the crowds and the heat for that postcard photo of Wineglass Bay. Relax on the secluded beach or choose the more challenging Mt Amos or Hazzards Beach walk for your morning’s Freycinet experience. This afternoon we make a quick stop at Kate’s Berry Farm before coming face to face with the iconic Tasmanian Devil at our stop at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Here we meet these now endangered native animals as well as some others unique to Tasmania. A short drive returns us to Hobart in time for dinner where we stay overnight.
