Itinerary

Welcome to Broome, a mellow coastal town founded on a pearling industry that's very much alive today. Those keen on beach-lazing might like to arrive a few days earlier, as the local beaches are superb and this trip departs early for the Great Sandy Desert. Set off south for the Pilbara region, stopping off en route at Eighty Mile Beach for some beachcombing, before settling in for a night camped under the vast West Australian skies.
Travel into Karijini National Park and spend the following few days exploring the park's secluded swimming holes, ochre rock caverns and delightful waterfalls. Clamber along the rocky contours of Weano Gorge, gaze out over Oxers Lookout and test out your photography skills on the oily blues and greys of Hancock Gorge.
Travel through the sun-kissed scenery of the Australian Outback on the way to Exmouth.
Drive on to Cape Range National Park and the unbelievably clear waters of Turquoise Bay. Arrive in Coral Bay, an ocean sanctuary for whale sharks, dugongs, manta rays and sea turtles, then strap on a snorkel or scuba kit and float over the 200 species of coral at Ningaloo Marine Park.
Cross the Tropic of Capricorn, stopping by Shell Beach for a stroll along its crunchy shoreline, before continuing on to Monkey Mia. Meet the pod of wild dolphins that have been coming into the clear shallows of this bay for decades. When evening falls, join a cultural tour of Gathaagudu (Shark Bay) with our Indigenous hosts.
Visit the stromatolites of Shark Bay World Heritage Area before heading further south to the seaside resort town of Kalbarri.
Stop by Nambung National Park to wander among the famous Pinnacles that populate this peculiar moon-like desert. Then arrive in Perth, where this tour concludes. Perhaps venture out for a final group dinner at an atmospheric local pub or stick around for an extra day and take the ferry across to Rottnest Island.
