Nadia Lim, Intrepid Food Ambassador

Intrepid are delighted to announce celebrity chef, Nadia Lim, as its food ambassador. Nadia has already eaten her way from North to South Vietnam and most recently visited Turkey on an Intrepid Real Food Adventure. A serial cookbook author, food writer, entrepreneur and qualified dietitian, Nadia is the head chef and dietitian of My Food Bag, guest judge on My Kitchen Rules, and has a TV show travelling and tasting New Zealand’s best food.

About the trip

Itinerary:

Days 1-2 Hanoi

Hanoi is famous for its tranquil lake settings, French-colonial architecture, ancient temples, delectable cuisine and as the resting place of the revered former leader, Ho Chi Minh.
 

Day 3 Hanoi – Mai Chau – Day Trip

Our journey takes us from the hectic pace of life in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi to the clean air of the mountains surrounding Mai Chau valley to join in a cooking class. Here we will learn how to cook 3 dishes of the White Thai people, and take part in the process of making dishes.
 

Days 4-5 Halong Bay/Overnight Train

Halong Bay is a place of surreal beauty, with ethereal limestone islands jutting out of jade waters and atmospheric caves and grottoes carved out by time. In the evening we enjoy a performance of the unique Water Puppets.
 

Day 6 Hue

Packed with historic monuments, Hue is also perfectly located to explore the surrounding countryside, which features stunning scenery, quaint villages and the peaceful Tam Giang Lagoon.
 

Days 7-9 Hoi An

The backstreet and waterways in and around Hoi An are fascinating places to explore - emerald rice paddies, friendly locals and beautiful landscapes abound.
 

Day 10 Ho Chi Minh City

Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is an exciting and dynamic city brimming with street vendors, cyclos, temples, shops and colonial architecture.
 

Day 11 Mekong Delta Homestay

The Mekong Delta is the lifeblood of South-East Asia, and this fertile region within Vietnam is a maze of canals brimming with life, markets and tropical foods.
 

Days 12-13 Ho Chi Minh City

With countless food stalls, restaurants, museums and markets, the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City have something for everyone to enjoy.
