Day 1 Ushuaia

Arrive in Ushuaia, a scenic town at the southern tip of Patagonia. Stretch your legs by tackling some of the hiking trails in Tierra del Fuego National Park, or simply take a stroll around the welcoming shops, cafes and museums.

Get ready for life at sea. Meet your fellow travellers and the expedition team and settle into the ship that will be home for the next few weeks.

Days 3-4 Drake Passage

High winds and choppy seas ahead! Crossing the legendary Drake Passage is a rite of passage that will get you into the Antarctic explorer spirit. Spend time getting to know your group, and the expedition team will begin their series of presentations to help you prepare for upcoming excursions. It may be a rough ride, but the incredible icy sights and rich birdlife along the way offer a great distraction.

Days 5-8 South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula

There are few words to describe the feeling of setting foot on this quiet, untouched, icy continent. Be enchanted by the mesmerising whiteness of the landscape and delighted as a penguin waddles by. Join the expedition team for guided hikes to glaciers, research stations and snowy mountains. Keep your camera ready for penguins and seals, and be on the lookout for minke and humpback whales breeching the clear Antarctic waters.

Days 9-10 At Sea

As the ship heads towards South Georgia, now’s a great time to learn more from your onboard experts about Sir Ernest Shackleton and other famous Antarctic explorers.

Days 11-13 South Georgia

Take a step back in time and explore the remnants of historical Antarctic expeditions in South Georgia. Visit old whaling stations and abandoned outposts and pay tribute at the grave of Sir Ernest Shackleton. Itching for more wildlife spotting? Head to the beaches to be captivated by huge colonies of king penguins, or get up close and personal with massive elephant seals and smaller fur seals.

Days 14-16 At Sea

Sit back, relax and get ready for the adventures still to come. Head out on deck to spot whales and seabirds, or attend lectures to learn more about the Antarctic.

Days 17-18 Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas)

Arrive at an archipelago rich with wildlife, where daily landings and zodiac excursions will take you to see incredible local flora and fauna. Spot the impressive albatross, Cobb’s wren and the Falkland’s flightless steamer duck. Stop by Port Stanley, a charming British outpost with museums and churches to explore – and a cosy local pub, where a pint or two might be in order!

Days 19-22 At Sea

The voyage homewards begins. As the magical silence of Antarctica fades away, spend some time relaxing onboard and reflecting on your experiences with new friends.

Day 23 Disembarkation in Buenos Aires

Enjoy a final breakfast on the ship and say goodbye to your fellow travellers. If you have a bit of time up your sleeve, why not stay on in Buenos Aires and get to know the fiery spirit of the land of tango.
