Day 1 Ushuaia

Start the adventure in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. Roam the small, historic town and explore the shops and museums. Feel like getting closer to nature? The nearby Tierra del Fuego National Park and Mount Glacier are perfect for hiking and outdoor activities.

Day 2 Embarkation

Meet your fellow travellers and say goodbye to solid ground. Get to know the ship and life at sea as you set sail along the stunning Beagle Channel.

Day 3 At Sea

Sit back and relax. Now is the perfect time to soak up the wealth of information that is available on the ship. Take in presentations from the expedition team on Antarctica’s wildlife and history, and find out how to make the most of your Antarctic experience.

Days 4-5 Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas)

Hop on a zodiac to explore the rugged landscapes of the Falkland Islands. Get to know the majestic penguins and unique birdlife that call the archipelago home. Stop at the charmingly ramshackled Port Stanley for a pint at the local pub, or check out the museums and churches.

Days 6-7 At Sea

Continue on southwards. Officially enter polar waters as you cross the wildlife-rich Antarctic Convergence.

Days 8-10 South Georgia

Arrive at the ‘Galapagos of the Poles’ and explore the rocky beaches that are home to king penguins and fur seals. Visit the grave of Sir Ernest Shackleton and check out remnants of old whaling stations and abandoned outposts.

Day 11 At Sea

Learn more about the Antarctic from the expedition team as you sail towards the more remote and lesser-known archipelagos.

Days 12-13 South Sandwich Islands

First stop is the volcanic Zavadovski Island, where one of the world’s largest penguin colonies can be found. Journey on to the craggy shores of Saunders Island and see the recently active volcano, Mount Michael, which contains one of the world’s only recurrent lava lakes in its crater.

Days 14-15 At Sea

Put your feet up and recover your energy for the next stop as you continue traveling through icy waters. Spot whales and seabirds from the deck, or if you’re hungry for more knowledge, take in more presentations from your onboard experts.

Day 16 South Orkney Islands

Be awed by the vibrant scenery, rich birdlife and towering icebergs along South Orkney’s shores. If conditions are right, take an excursion to Coronation Island and see penguins nesting in moss beds alongside fur seals.

Days 17-22 South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula

Few experiences compare to catching your first glimpse of the white continent. All landings and activities depend on the weather, so there are plenty of surprises in store. Whether its hiking up a shimmering glacier, visiting a research station, watching penguins and seals on the beaches or seeing a curious whale approach the zodiac, there’s no shortage of magic to discover.
